"Good morning to all, Members and new participants.
I wanted to reproduce, in as much detail as possible, the expenses for the organization of the National Convention so that everyone can view them and, if necessary, ask for insights.
The location is the same as the previous Convention.
In the previous edition, IppocrateOrg had a substantial financial surplus due to donations from people treated by Covid. This surplus allowed us to disburse 70,000 euros, practically reducing the participant's contribution to the cost of the dinner alone.
The decision to invest in that event was a good one because it allowed us to be known by so many people who did not yet know us, to broaden our common horizons, and to grow the Origins project.
This year, on the one hand we no longer have the same available funds and on the other hand we are allocating the income to the establishment of the Foundation and the establishment of the Territorial Social Medicine network.
Therefore, the contribution requested this time is, reluctantly, much higher than in the previous edition. Still not enough to cover the costs but will allow us to compensate with an amount we can afford.
I am answering right now, a question, which I know more than a few will ask.
Why not choose a less expensive location?
For several reasons.
The first concerns the fact that, in case of many more requests to participate than expected, as happened in the previous edition, the Bagnoli facility allows us, with little additional cost, to have an adjacent hall that holds 250 people.
Another reason lies in the fact that 1,000-person facilities, which we have thoroughly screened, are either located in cold sheds at some trade show or do not have the possibility of being able to dine all together (by splitting people into different restaurants) with the conviviality and sharing that would be lacking. And still the expense would be reduced but not drastically.
The Hippocratic School students will incur a lower cost because the Convention overlaps, for reasons dictated by the availability of the speakers, with their weekend in attendance at the School, which they have already paid for and which is held 20 kilometers from where the Convention is held. We could not exclude them from the Convention or even charge them a double price.
We are taking steps to start a network of solidarity both with regard to hospitality and with regard to transportation for those who come from afar and do not have sufficient economic means.
Here you will find the link to access the chat where you can apply.
Special cases point out their needs to the help email on the site and, where possible, we will meet them.
I hope you can join us.
Kind regards."
